Foot Gauge

A shoe-shop foot gauge for the house. Heel in the cup, slide the stop to the toe, read the size in centimetres one side and inches the other — and buy the shoes online that actually fit.

The heel cup's inner face is the zero and every mark is laid off it in real millimetres, so the reading is the foot's length and nothing else. The stop rides in two slots, which keep it square. 8 to 21 cm: a newborn to about ten. Bear ears at the toe; their name on the heel. PLA, two colours.
